A little over 21 years ago this place was nothing but a hay field. Now it has become a destination for travelers from all over. 21 years ago we opened the door for business and Texas Hill Country Furniture & Mercantile was born. Hand crafted furniture from raw logs to finished products. With a lot of hard work my wife, Sherry runs the store. 21 years later we have furniture in almost every state in the US and 14 foreign countries.

After the first year, we realized people kept asking for a place to get a cold drink or or someplace to eat. Places were miles away so the idea of a Natty Flat Smokehouse was started. 
Knowing nothing about food service, I called on the help of my brother Roy, who had been in food service all his life. With a lot of advice and help from Roy, It has become one of the top barbecue places in the state. He now operates Natty Flat Smokehouse with the help of his daughter Julie, and grandson Kolen.
The name came from Natty Flat where Sherry’s grandparents and dad were raised.

The Bent Bucket Bakery was an idea of our daughter Deiann. The building was from Fort Walters in Mineral Wells and still has the original floors. With a lot of hard work and some help from her sister Stacie, the Bent Bucket also has become a prime destination. A few years ago her Fried pies were rated top-five in Texas by Texas Highways. Top quality food and baked goods for the last five years - always served with a smile. All family owned and operated with love and kindness from my family to yours.

 

Our anniversary celebration each year is a big THANK YOU to our customers for making it happen.
